At Stinson Angus Farms we breed practical cattle that work.   With over 45 years in the cattle business, we have seen fads come and go, but one thing always stays true to her purpose: a good Angus cow. That's our focus: good cattle  that work.

Having experienced the tall cattle of the 80s and the push for terminal carcass cattle in the 2000s, we saw breeding with variable results.  Sampling a bull here for one reason and trying a bull there for another creates a calf crop with a huge gene pool and results are all over the place.   Good cattle are made but consistency is lost; we have a renewed focused on consistency.  As you visit our herd sires page, you will notice bulls being used with similar pedigrees.  We know that if you want a consistent product, you need to have consistent inputs.  Whether we are selling bulls to commercial cattlemen, freezer beefs to local consumers, or bred cows to other registered Angus breeders, we know that good cattle with no extremes function well and produce the eating experience we all desire.  

Like each of you who love agriculture, life makes more sense when we are farming.   Producing from the land is a gift from God. Why Angus? There is no perfect breed, no perfect animal. But when we stop and look at what makes the most sense in the region where we live, Angus rises to the top easily.   A great Angus cow can raise a steer for the freezer, a beautiful daughter to make more and a herd bull to sire commercial calves for any industry demand.
